
Given that the first post when we started this predominantly food-based blog last summer was about the food we enjoyed over our wedding weekend, it seems apt that the same day I decided to try to start posting again this summer, we received a package in the mail from Grandma Jacquie with the top of our wedding cake, which she'd kept for us in her freezer as it aged for a year in accordance with a tradition that I only learned about just before our wedding.
The red velvet cake top still looks and tastes good, even though it's a year old. Still turns everything on the plate pink too.
