We haven't posted anything for the last ten days, during which we took a very long route home. We left Hangzhou on August 4 for 3 days in Shanghai at Alex Geertz and Sean Leow's place; flew out of Shanghai's Pudong Airport on August 7 to San Francisco via Vancouver; spent the night in San Francisco where we had a mini ladies reunion and got just under 6 hours of sleep at Alex Wang and Paul Leow's; flew all day on August 8 to a 3 hour layover in Charlotte en route to Nashville where Owen's mom picked us up for a 2 hour drive to their home in Alabama; woke up on August 9, put the dogs in the car and hit the road just before 7am for a 14 hour drive back to Rochester. Had a somewhat restful Sunday, Owen started school on Monday and I got on another plane Tuesday morning for NYC, stopped by my old office and then boarded an 18 hour flight to Singapore for a quick trip home to see my family and mainly to make it to my grandmother's 95th birthday in Manila.
So, we're no longer in China, but we have three final China posts, starting with the last individual Hangzhou restaurant - an established local chain, Zhiweiguan. There is one flagship restaurant and then smaller branches all over the city. They even have a line of frozen food products so you can enjoy the Zhiweiguan flavor in the comfort of your own home.
